Paste the cn8 server URL into your assistant's connector settings, or run one command in Claude Code.
Sign in with your cn8 account and choose which API key the assistant uses. Set a credit limit if you like.
The assistant picks the right service, tells you the price and runs it once you say yes.

Claude and ChatGPT sign in with your cn8 account. Terminal and editor clients use an API key.
No cn8 account yet? Create one free first, then connect.
claude.ai → Customize → Connectors
Add cn8 as a custom connector and sign in with your cn8 account. No key to copy.
In claude.ai open Customize → Connectors → Add custom connector.
Name it cn8 and paste the server URL.
https://api.cn8.io/mcpClaude detects the rest: Authentication “Sign in now” and OAuth client “Register automatically”. Leave request headers empty and click Add, then Connect.
A cn8 page opens. Sign in, keep “New key” selected (optionally set a credit limit) and click Allow.
Back in Claude the 14 cn8 tools appear, split into read-only and write tools. Choose per tool whether Claude may run it freely or must ask first.
Signed up to cn8 with Google? On the sign-in page open “Signed up with Google, or prefer to paste a key?” and paste an API key instead.

Free tools answer right away. A paid tool first returns the estimated credits and asks the assistant to confirm with you; only the confirmed call runs.
A single call above 500 credits is refused, and a key's credit limit stops spending at that limit. Failed jobs are not charged.
Everything runs under one API key: its allowed services, credit limit and request log apply. Revoke it in the dashboard to disconnect.
What to know before you connect your assistant.
It connects cn8 to AI assistants through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the open standard for giving assistants tools. Once connected, Claude, ChatGPT or Claude Code can find cn8 services, estimate what a call costs and run it on your cn8 account.
Claude (claude.ai) and ChatGPT connect by signing in with your cn8 account. Claude Code and any other MCP client that speaks Streamable HTTP connect with a cn8 API key.
Not for Claude or ChatGPT: you sign in on a cn8 page and choose a new or existing key, and the assistant receives a token tied to that key, never the key itself. Terminal and editor clients send an API key as a header.
The discovery tools are free: account balance, service search, service details, cost estimates, job status and uploads. Media tools are billed in credits at each service's normal price, for example 0.1 credits per second for subtitles. 100 credits = 1 USD.
A paid tool first returns the estimated credits and asks the assistant to confirm with you; only the confirmed call runs. A single call above 500 credits is refused, your key's credit limit caps total spend, and failed jobs are not charged.
Remove the connector in your assistant, or revoke its key in Dashboard → API Keys; after that the assistant can no longer use cn8.
